“The under construction petrochemical plant of the SIBUR, group of companies, received the first polypropylene granules in a test mode,” the press service of the company reported. Construction and assembly works are completed on the process unit, and commissioning works are in the active phase. In particular, functional tests of systems are being conducted, and safety systems are being tested.
The project will allow to produce all types of polypropylene, presented in all market segments. Polypropylene produced at ZapSibNeftekhim will serve as raw material for the production of a wide range of polymer products from medical products and personal care products to geotextiles, pipes for hot water supply, packaging and packaging.
After the launch of ZapSibNeftekhim, the total volume of polypropylene produced at the Tobolsk enterprises of SIBUR will be 1 million tons of polypropylene per year. This is the largest capacity in Russia and one of the largest in the world.
