Reagents for oil production based on polymers has been created

Specialists from one of Kazan universities have developed non-toxic reagents for oil transportation through pipelines in the Arctic. These reagents are castor oil-based water-soluble polyurethanes with good biodegradation under standard conditions.

The flow of hydrocarbons is stable due to the developed reagents. The reagents allow to extract and transport oil at low temperatures more efficiently and with fewer accidents.

The reagents have been tested in laboratory conditions, and it is planned to be put into industrial operation.
