In January-August this year, Russian polymer producers produced 1215.5 thousand tons of polyethylene (+35.8 thousand tons; + 3% compared to last year).
Market report analysts noted that the maximum growth in production was recorded in the segment of linear polyethylene. Compared to last year, the output of LDL increased by a third and reached 133 thousand tons. The number of HDPE produced increased to 652.5 thousand tons (+1%), and in the HDPE segment there was a slight decrease in production volumes.
Earlier it was reported that some domestic manufacturers that produce high-pressure polyethylene, carry out the prevention of existing equipment. This led to a decrease in production volumes and an increase in demand for LDPE. However, according to experts, this is a temporary phenomenon that has no serious impact on the Russian market of polyethylene.
